The Station Nightclub Fire (2003)
A rapid-fire event in a crowded nightclub ignited by indoor pyrotechnics against combustible foam wall treatment. One hundred people died, most within minutes, largely at the main exit.

Medical response
The event overwhelmed local EMS; a large-scale mutual-aid and burn-transfer response was required across regional hospitals. The medical response and regional burn-care surge were analysed in subsequent reviews.
Aftermath — what changed
The fire drove significant changes to US fire codes (NFPA) governing sprinklers, finish materials, occupancy, and indoor pyrotechnics in assembly occupancies, and led to criminal proceedings.
